Pops, things won’t be the same without you around. I will miss your warm and welcoming face. I will miss coming home from work on the weekends and being able to visit you for a chat and a cup of tea. I will miss your opinions and the way you just tell it like it is. I will miss your calmness, and how being around you made me feel calm too. I will miss your sense of humour, and how you used to wind me up. I will miss giving you a kiss and making a point to each other of saying ‘see you later’ instead of ‘goodbye’, because that’s too final, and it’s what you taught me to do. There are so many things that I will miss about you, and about being in your company. You were an amazing and much-loved member of our family, you were a part of the furniture and will be missed greatly, but remembered so fondly by all of your family and friends.
